Tyson Carmody
Managing Director, Kings Narrative
Tyson Carmody is a proud Arrernte man, narrative therapist, community leader, and the Founder and Managing Director of King’s Narrative. With more than a decade of experience working across youth development, health, and community leadership, Tyson has dedicated his career to creating culturally safe spaces that support Aboriginal men to reconnect with culture, strengthen their wellbeing, and realise their potential.
Frustrated by the lack of culturally appropriate services available to Aboriginal men, Tyson established King’s Narrative in 2021 as an Aboriginal-led social enterprise designed to support Aboriginal men to be the authors of their own stories. Through programs grounded in narrative approaches and delivered on Country, the organisation focuses on health, wellbeing, leadership, and economic development while centering culture and Aboriginal ways of knowing and being.
Tyson is widely respected for his ability to bring people together, facilitate difficult conversations, and help individuals and communities reframe their stories with strength and pride. He is a sought-after speaker and facilitator whose work continues to influence conversations about Aboriginal men’s wellbeing, culture, and systems change across Australia.
