Georgia Mathews

Philanthropic Principal Consultant and Advisor

Georgia (she/her) is a philanthropic consultant and respected leader with a decade of experience in the field.

As Principal at Georgia Mathews Consulting, she supports private donors, giving collectives and funding intermediaries who want to change systems, challenge practices and centre communities. She recently supported Community Foundations Australia with their organisational strategy and establishment of their Field Catalyst Fund, and has worked with partners including Mannifera, Australians Investing in Women, Resource Generation and Common Threads.

Georgia has held management and executive positions at a range of philanthropic institutions, including Australian Communities Foundation where she was Director of Philanthropy. She has contributed to the establishment of several award-winning philanthropic initiatives, sector education and development programs, and the publication of research.

In addition to her freelance work, Georgia is Deputy Chair of Rainbow Giving Australia, a Board Director of Fair Agenda, Co-chair of the NEXUS Australia Advisory Council and an Affiliated Consultant with Ktisis Capital.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (History, Gender Studies) from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Philanthropy and Social Investment from Swinburne University of Technology. Georgia resides on the unceded lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung People in Castlemaine with her wife Emerald and her dog, Sonny.
